If something is working for months at a time, then stops for months at a time, it's usually due to humidity. I had a mouse that would short out constantly in drier weather because it would build up static charges and then short a line.

To answer your question at 0:25 was the change in demographics at the time. In 2001, Halo came onto the scene. When the Xbox released back then, Nintendo wasn’t in charge anymore-Sony was. Master Chief is what more people mainly gravitated toward as everyone wanted a PC-Quality FPS experience in the home. People gravitated toward Halo’s Master Chief moreso than what WAS supposed to be their own mascot to represent the Xbox: Blinx. Nobody wanted mascots with childish platforming anymore, they wanted First-Person Shooters with realism. Master Chief was an accident turned successful. And while he wasn’t the first recognizable face in the FPS genre (see Doomguy), he did turn the tides. It’s why we have other such classics as Battlefield, Watchdogs, Medal of Honor, Team Fortress 2, Left 4 Dead, Borderlands, The Darkness, Fortnite and the most famous game in the entire genre-you all know it, you either love it or tolerate it: Call of Duty! THAT is whatever happened to mascots! Also at 1:05, Princess Za isn’t a seal; she’s a plesiosaur.

I really like the simplicity of the software experience. But its both too buggy and too expensive. Plus to be blunt I dont have many games older than the PS2 anymore. So Id need a console that can run roms. Because buying the games i want to try would cost another $1000

It's unfortunate its so expensive. The software seems very slick and enjoyable to use. But frankly that doesnt make a Celeron that cant even play Dreamcast games, worth the price of a PS5. Not to mention that audio delay, and audio bugs in some cart vonsoles like Turbografx mixing. And all the bugs you envountered using wired controllers bugs me too. I was interested but, it is both too buggy and too expensive.

12:56 That's just ridiculous. Just a few years earlier in Metroid prime 3 you were already able to play with the nunchuck plugged into the Wii remote and therefore control with the joystick on the nunchuck and still aim with the motion controls of the Wii remote. I mean there is no good reason to make players have to hold the Wii remote on its side and use a d-pad in a 3D environment and then keep going back and forth between holding it on its side and pointing it forwards to aim They could have easily done better I just don't understand why they would have designed it that way. This is the first time I've actually been made it aware of how bad the controls in Metroid Other M are.

As a Norwegian, I don't want the UK to represent Europeans. They told us to eff-off some years ago, let them take the hit for Dizzy, manic miner, Clive Sinclair ,zx spectrum, and jet set Blobby, etc. We owned Nintendo, Commodore c64(your peace of dizzy, USA), sega. Nobody knew how to make games here, we are innocent and want to be free from that stigma. Nintendo and Sega made our crappy games, the 8 bits were awful 99 of 100 games.Super Mario 3, that was it.

There's these two russian games from 2000s called Space Rangers 1 and 2. They might be the best Star Trek Games that are not Star Trek. They are story and narration driven, but the universe is procedurally generated every new game. There's diffirent races with their own quirks and motivation. One big threat to the Galaxy that requires everyone to come together to fight it. And you're a space ranger, the person who is responsible for banding everyone together whatever it takes. You get to explore, fight, trade, manage your risk and resources. Research and develop new technologies in collaboration with other races. You can be good or turn to crime and piracy to complete your mission And one of the most unique and fun parts are the text based quests you get to do for monetary rewards: they are very fun and you will never know what kind of mission it might be, just like Star Trek episodes, I guess. These are very cool games from my childhood and I like for Joe to know about them. They had English localizations and releases. I just googled and found that part 2 is available on steam and is still being updated.

The Master System's PSG chip is such a sad, sorry little thing. The FM music is a near-universal improvement. Weirdly enough, the SN76489 actually sounds good in the Genesis when used as accompaniment for the FM music.

I actually really like Metroid Other M." I can forgive things like the orders to use weapons. (I mean it's super cliche that she even loses all her abilities anyways.) I can forgive the story. (Nobody plays Metroid for the story, and most games in the series don't really have much of a story.) The one thing I can't forgive though is the point-and-click stop points in this game. They almost broken as you keep trying to click on the object you are suppose to find, and nothing happens. You have to click it over and over again and hope you get lucky. They could cut that whole thing out.
